Bicerin - The Unofficial Drink of the 2006 Olympics at The Beanery Bistro & Koko's

Bicerin - The Unofficial Drink of the 2006 Olympics at The Beanery Bistro & Koko's
Bicerin (pronounced bee-cheh-REEN)is a delicious combination of espresso, chocolate and frothy steamed milk beverage made famous in Torino, Italy, at Caffe Al Bicerin. It's served in a tall glass so the drinker can admire the mouthwatering melange of colors. As athletes, spectators and news crews have swarmed Torino over the past few weeks, bicerin has become the unofficial drink of the 2006 Winter Olympics. Now you can enjoy it, too. The Beanery Bistro & Koko's will be offering Bicerin specials this week. Enjoy this yummy drink at the Beanery and then stop by Koko's to pick up some Bicerin inspired homemade fudge...absolutely delicious!!! For more information call the Beanery Bistro at 688-2224 or Koko's at 683-0414

Local Group Bus 13
If not already being played when you arrive at the Beanery, ask Carol or Val to hear the CD. There are only a few copies left!

About the band - This fast moving Americana and alternative-rock band BUS13 wanted more and they wanted bigger. So they poured their acoustic folk-rock roots into a blender, added a few shots of higher octane BUS13 fuel, threw in some top-notch brass, banjo, Hammond organ and piano backing talent, switched on the blender to liquefy and recorded Band Radio. On almost every level, singer/songwriter Todd Daniels on vocals and guitar, Mike Armentano on lead guitar, Roger Goulet on drums and percussion, and Mick Johnson on bass have concocted a much bigger follow-up to their catchy Reflector record.

Coffee Trivia

The Italians drink their espresso with sugar, the Germans and Swiss - with equal parts of hot chocolate, the Mexicans - with cinnamon, the Belgians - with chocolate. Moroccans drink their coffee with peppercorns, the Ethiopians - with a pinch of salt. Coffee drinkers in the Middle East usually add cardamom and spices. Whipped cream is the favourite amongst Austrians. The Egyptians are extremely fond of pure and strong coffee. They seldom add sugar to it, nor milk nor cream. They serve unsweeteened coffee to mourners and sweetened coffee at weddings. The Italians are the unrivaled World Masters of Espresso.
