Coffee Trivia

Building Shaped Like Coffee Pot
Lexington, Virginia

On Highway 60 between Lexington and Buena Vista, a building that almost looks like a coffee pot sits on a the right side of a curving grade. The two-story corrugated metal structure qualifies as coffee-related by virtue of its roundness and the attached spout and handle. We don't know the history of this place, but today it is the James River Basin Canoe Livery, renting canoes for vacationing and weekend paddlers.

Beat the WinterTime Blues with Drumming at the Beanery Bistro

Take Advantage of this great opportunity to try something new with family and friends. Windsor resident, Rick Liegl, will be teaching a series of WestAfrican Drum Workshops for beginners - advanced drummers.

The classes will be hands on and will cover both the cultural/historical information of the drums and musicianship skills needed to play as an ensemble. Students will learn correct technique to play both the hand drums (Djembe) and stick drums( Kenkeni, Sangba, and Dundunba). Traditional drums handmade in Guinea, West Africa will be provided.

This music is very exciting to play and many life lessons such as teamwork, perseverance and listening are very evident during the lessons. Refreshments will be provided.

Classes will be held January 11th, 18th, 25th, and the 1st of February from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Cost is $40.00 for the 4 sessions if you prepay or $12.00 per person for drop ins. Discounts available to family groups
