Favorite Sites Alex's Lemonade Stand Alexandra "Alex" Scott was the 8 year old founder of Alex's Lemonade Stand for Pediatric Cancer Research. Two days before her first birthday she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer. At the age of four, Alex decided to do something to make that cure more likely. She opened her first lemonade stand in July of 2000 with the idea of donating the proceeds to "her hospital." Each year since, Alex has held an annual lemonade stand in her front yard. As word spread, donations began to pour in from around the world, and she has raised well over $1,600,000 for pediatric cancer research. click here to learn more D.J. Ever wonder how the Shad Derby parade and events on the Town Green happen every May? The Windsor Jaycees organize those two (big) events on Shad Derby day. Not only do we organize these events, but we have fun doing it. We also do other projects that benefit various individuals and groups in Windsor. Currently we need new members! If you are between the ages of 18 and 40, come to an upcoming meeting and meet us. Meetings are very informal and will allow you to find out more about who we are and what we do.
